Privacy Policy

Effective: August 12, 2026 Last updated: August 12, 2026 App ID: volume.booster.equalizer.bass

This Privacy Policy explains how Wewin Software (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the Volume Booster & Equalizer mobile application (the “App”). The App is an audio tool: it raises playback loudness, applies an equalizer, and lets you control the music already playing on your phone. It is built to do that entirely on your device.

The short version

We do not run servers and we collect nothing about you ourselves. Your boost level, equalizer presets, and settings stay on your device. The microphone permission is used only to read the loudness of the audio your phone is already playing so the on-screen wave can move — nothing is recorded, stored, or uploaded. To keep the App free, it shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects limited device and advertising data as described in sections 5 and 6.

01 Overview

Volume Booster & Equalizer is a free Android utility that boosts playback loudness, applies equalizer and bass/surround effects, and offers a mini player and a notification panel for the music app you are already using. This policy applies to the App distributed under the application ID volume.booster.equalizer.bass.

We do not operate any account system, login, or backend service for the App. We have no way to identify you, and we receive no copy of what you listen to or how you configure the App.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

02 Data you create and store on your device

The following information is created by your use of the App and stored locally in the App’s private storage. We have no access to it and it is not transmitted to us:

  • Boost and volume settings — the extra-boost level and the last known system-volume position, remembered separately for each output path (phone speaker, wired headset, Bluetooth) so each path keeps its own tuning.
  • Equalizer settings — the active preset, per-band gain values, an unsaved draft of bands you are editing, and the bass, surround, and deep-bass knob positions, also kept per output path.
  • Custom presets — the presets you save, including any name you type for them.
  • App preferences — for example which tab you last opened, whether the wave animation is on, and whether you chose “Don’t remind me again” for the high-volume warning.
  • Your chosen music app — the package name of the player you selected for the mini player, so the App can reopen it next time.

This data stays on the device until you clear the App’s storage or uninstall the App. Automatic Android backup is disabled for the App, so these settings are not copied into your Google account backup by us.

03 Audio & the microphone permission

Please read

Android requires the microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) permission before any app may read the device’s audio output levels. The App requests it for that reason only. It does not record you, does not capture the contents of your calls or media, and does not save or send any audio anywhere.

When you grant the permission, the App attaches Android’s system Visualizer to the audio output mix. The Visualizer returns a stream of frequency values that the App converts into a single loudness number, used to animate the wave on screen and to detect whether music is currently playing. Those values live in memory for the fraction of a second they are drawn and are then discarded.

The permission is optional. If you decline it, boosting and the equalizer work exactly the same; only the reactive wave animation falls back to an idle motion.

The audio effects themselves — loudness boost, equalizer, bass and surround — are applied by the Android audio framework on your device. No audio content ever leaves your phone through the App.

04 Notification access & media control

The App offers an optional mini player. To show what is playing and to send play, pause, and skip commands, Android requires notification access (the BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE permission), because only an enabled notification listener may read the list of active media sessions.

When you enable it:

  • The App reads the active media sessions on your device — the track title, artist, album artwork, playback position, and playback state published by your music app — and displays them in the mini player and in the App’s notification.
  • This information is used only for display and control while the App runs. It is not stored, logged, or transmitted, and it is not shared with advertising or any other third party.
  • The App does not read, collect, or act on the content of any other notification.

The App also asks Android which installed apps can play audio, so it can offer you a list of players to choose from. That query is answered on the device and its result is not sent anywhere.

Notification access is optional; the boost and equalizer features work without it. You can revoke it at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access (wording varies by device).

05 Information collected automatically

We do not collect any information ourselves. Some information is collected by the third-party software development kits (SDKs) bundled in the App:

SourceExamples of dataPurpose
Google AdMob (advertising)Advertising ID, device and network information (model, OS version, language, IP address), approximate location derived from the IP address, and how you interact with ads.To request, display, and measure advertisements, and to detect invalid traffic and fraud.
Google User Messaging Platform (consent)Your consent choices and a record that a consent form was shown, plus IP-derived region. To request and store your advertising consent where the law requires it.
Google Play servicesStandard device and availability checks made by the platform libraries the SDKs above rely on.To let the advertising SDK function.

These services receive no audio, no media metadata from your music app, and none of the settings or presets described in section 2.

06 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is free and is funded by advertising. It uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect and process your device’s advertising identifier (a resettable ID assigned by Android), IP-based approximate location, device and network information, and data about your interaction with ads. This may be used to show personalized or non-personalized ads, to cap how often an ad is shown, to measure performance, and to prevent fraud.

Where required by law — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — the App presents a consent request through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized ads are served. You may decline, in which case you may still see non-personalized ads, and you can change or withdraw your choice later from the privacy option inside the App where it is offered.

Advertising identifiers are not linked by us to any other information, because we hold no other information about you.

To learn how Google uses this data, see “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” and AdMob & privacy.

07 How we use information

  • To provide the App’s core features — boosting loudness, applying equalizer and tone effects, and remembering your tuning for each output path.
  • To show what is playing and let you control it, when you have enabled notification access.
  • To display and measure advertising, which keeps the App free.
  • To keep the App working correctly and securely, and to prevent abuse of the advertising it serves.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Use.

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for personalized advertising, and for the optional microphone and notification-access permissions); our legitimate interests (for non-personalized advertising, security, and fraud prevention); and performance of a contract (to provide the App you requested).

08 Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense of the California CCPA/CPRA, and we do not transfer your settings, presets, audio, or media metadata to anyone. The only data leaving your device is the advertising data described in sections 5 and 6, which is sent by Google’s SDKs directly to Google.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public. In practice we hold no user data that could be disclosed.

09 Third-party services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

The App can open the music player you select and can send you to Android’s own settings screens. Those apps and screens are operated by their own developers or by Google and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not by this one.

10 Your choices & rights

Advertising controls

  • Reset or delete your advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by device). Deleting the ID stops it being available to apps.
  • Personalized ads: where a consent prompt is shown, you may decline or later change your choice; non-personalized ads may still appear.

Permissions

  • Revoke the microphone permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Volume Booster & Equalizer → Permissions. Boost and equalizer keep working; only the wave animation stops reacting.
  • Revoke notification access in Android Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access. The mini player then stops showing playback.
  • Turn off notifications to remove the App’s control panel from your notification shade.

Your local data

  • Delete individual presets from the “Manage presets” screen inside the App.
  • Clear the App’s storage or uninstall the App to remove every setting and preset from your device.

Statutory rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold no personal information about you, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device by managing permissions or clearing the App’s data. For data processed by Google as described above, please use Google’s own controls, or contact us using the details in section 17 and we will help where we can.

11 Data retention

Settings and presets stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Audio levels read for the wave animation are held only in memory and are discarded immediately. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained according to Google’s own retention policies.

12 Security

Your settings and presets reside in the App’s private storage area, which other apps cannot read under normal Android conditions. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keeping your device’s operating system and screen lock up to date helps protect your data.

13 Children’s privacy

The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

Because the App can raise playback loudness above the device default, we recommend that a parent or guardian supervise its use by a minor. See the hearing-safety warning in our Terms of Use.

14 International data transfers

The third-party services above are operated by Google and may process data on servers located in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards under Google’s own terms. We ourselves transfer no data internationally, because we receive none.
